33. Conclusions
- Over half the population of nursing homes in Cyprus has Dementia
- Most cases are unsuspected
- Very few patients receive anti AD medication available free from government
- 75% of residents do not take neuroleptics or hypnotics
- Nursing Homes are becoming geriatric institutions
- Although satisfaction with care is presently high, more medical, nursing and other treatment facilities will be necessary in the future.
